WHO WE ARE…
Our Company
Balamanzi
(Pty) Ltd is a company engaged primarily in the business
of wholesaling water flow meters in the Western &
Eastern Cape. Balamanzi holds the sole distributorship
for the entire range of the Sensus Metering Systems
(previously Meinecke Meters) product. The Cape Town
based head office also operates a substantial contracts
department, which specializes in the installation &
maintenance of all of the meters & associated products
it supplies. Typical operations include the “cutting-in”
to mainlines, installing meters, strainers, valves, and
all ancillary equipment, and the construction of
chambers to ensure proper access. The company maintains
a small but active branch office based in Port Elizabeth
in the Eastern Cape.
The prime
markets serviced by the company are: Municipal (50%),
Civil Contractors & Merchants (35%) and Agricultural and
Industrial (15%).
Products
offered are predominantly for the measurement of potable
water, although other liquid media and applications are
catered for from time to time. Our products range from
small domestic meters to large bore bulk meters, and are
available in both mechanical and electronic
(electromagnetic) options.
Although
the company has for some time offered and installed
semi-automatic meter reading systems, the recent
partnership established with an Israeli company, KP
Electronic Systems, will shortly take us into the realm
of fully automatic meter reading (AMR) via the use of
long range radio networks.
This young
company recently celebrated their first anniversary, and
enjoyed a very successful first year of trading. This we
believe can be attributed to the fact that the Directors
and Shareholders of Balamanzi are able to boast a
collective experience in the metering industry, of in
excess of some 50 years.
