Meter Detail Database System

In December 2007 Balamanzi embarked on an ambitious new project to assist
The City of Cape Town municipality in managing its bulk water meters. Though Bulk Water Meters are costly assets that play an important role in Water Management, very often we find them in a state where they are no longer able to perform their function (measuring water consumption for billing). This leads to to huge amounts of water being unaccounted for.

Thus, it was decided to install Balamanzi Nameplates on the manhole covers of of all Bulk Water Meter installations done by Balamanzi with a reference No. linked to a database system from which useful information such as line size, exact meter location, date of installation etc., could be drawn.

This investment and effort is sure to prove beneficial in future especially when it comes to proper maintenance of the water reticulation system.
